As the year draws to a close it’s time to celebrate your PMO’s successes in 2018. Perhaps you successfully implemented a large-scale digital transformation initiative, or built a space glider, or maybe you’re just thankful that you finally found a project management platform that (almost) everybody likes.
And of course, it’s also time to take stock of some of your failures, projects where people, processes or technology may have let you down.
As we go through this process here at Viewpath, we find it helpful to think about our failures as roadmaps for growth in 2019. How can each of us grow in the next 12 months to ensure that we don’t make the same mistakes again.
The power of professional development
And it’s not just our failures that drive us to adopt an attitude of continuous learning. It’s the fact that learning new skills makes each of us even more valuable to the business, which increases our confidence in ourselves and in each other.
We find that our motivation is boosted (which is often a challenge at the end of such a big and busy year), and that we are filled with ideas and inspiration for making 2019 the best year yet!
We’d like to pass the good vibes on by encouraging you and your team to explore avenues for professional development, even if there’s no budget, by sharing our favorite podcasts. Some of them are project management-related, while others focus on leadership and innovation.
